Training your gaited horse
At Pleasure Gaits we
offer the opportunity to train your gaited horse to a higher level. Is
your horse mixing gaits? Do you want your gaited horse schooled in his
gaits? Whether you want some gait training for your green broke Walking
Horse, conditioning your Mangalarga Marchador on the trail, or
certifying your Rocky Mountain Horse or Kentucky Mountain Saddle Horse,
there are many options available despite the breed of your gaited horse.
All horses will be
trained both from the ground and under saddle focussing on the gaits of
the specific breed. We have an outside arena of 18 x 45 meters and a
roundpen of 16 meters diameter. Further more we can take your horses on
the trail in our beautiful area. Your horse will stay in a paddock
during its stay at our facility.
We prefer riding
bitless but on request we ride your horse with bit. During the training
we will work from the ground and from the saddle working on correct
balance for your horse. We use both classical dressage and Centered
Riding techniques for this. The pronouncement 'It takes two to tango.' is
definately important training horses. When training the horse, the owner
also needs to be schooled in order to continue the training once back
home. We emphasize how important this is and stimulate the owner to grow
along with the horse. Therefor we offer 1 ridinglesson per week for free
during the time of training as soon as the horse is established in his
gaits. Minimum age of the horse is 3,5 years. We advise to start training at the age of 4 or older.
Please also take a moment to read the article of Dr. Deb Bennett
regarding
maturation in horses. It
is our goal to give your horse a proper education that will keep its
value for the rest of his/her life.
Your horse needs to
have a passport and current on vaccinations including the Rhino Pneunomy
twice a year and deworming. If treatment of osteopathy,
vet etc are necessary in order to further educate your horse in a humane
matter, costs are for the owner.
Contact us in advance to discuss the
options for your horse or make an appointment for a personal
introduction.

gaan. Heel, heel veel dank! Groetjes, Margreet
