Paloma EWT
 Vader:
Stamboom: Paloma
EWT
No, not a Walker this time but a
Peruvian Paso! Paloma is 9 years old when she came to us and has a foal
by her side (available).
She is on maternity leave but once conditioned and well ridden we hope
to use her for our riding lessons as well. Paloma her sire is Destino DN
who is a half brother of Sanson. Soon after her arrival we discovered
Paloma was in foal to the Peruvian Paso stallion Ronaldo MP. We expect
her to deliver in May 2010.
Gaits:
For Peruvian Horses, the running walk or flawalk is called the Paso
Llano. Although they are in the basics the same gaits, there are
some significant differences; the most obvious one is that there is
little to no headnod. Instead, the horse in Paso Llano travels with
upwards and outward rotation of the front legs from the shoulders,
called Termino. The horse may show less overstride than in a running
walk but ordinarily will not cap his track and should never understride.
Other aspects of the gaits remain the same. All hooves leave the
ground seperately and set down in even, equal intervals.
Sobreandando is equal to amble,
stepping pace or picada with Mangalarga Machedor. It is a lateral 4-beat
gait.
We named Paloma her filly Elena PG. General
