Gaited horse video guidance

New!                       Guidance at distance...                    Advise and tips for you and your horse to work on at home...

It is fair enough to state gaited horses are less in number in Europe than their trotting variant. The same is for the number of gaited horse trainers. Often enough I hear customers mention that the travel distance is too much of a burden to take riding lessons with their gaited mount. Do you nevertheless feel the need for extra guidance with you gaited horse? Do you experience the different gaits of your horse, often ending up in a 'gangsalat'? Would you love to learn the different cues to teach your horse when to trot and to flat walk or tölt? Not to worry, here is the perfect solution: video guidance!

How does it work?

  1. Depending the distance it would be ideal for a first meeting face to face by joining a clinic or private lesson. After this first session, you will get homework to further train your horse once back home;
    In case you are not able to meet us in person I request a video of your horse showing its conformation, movement in walk and gait both on a straight line and in a circle next to a video of the both of you in action.
  2. You practice with your horse at your own pace. After a minimum of 2 weeks you have a friend of family member make a video of you riding your horse. This video (max. 15 minutes) can either be uploaded on a private channel on YouTube or send on a DVD. Accompany the video with your experiences and questions;
  3. After studying the video I will give you advice and more training tips by telephone (no mobile numbers) and you can ask all your questions (max. 30 minutes);
  4. Repeat step 1, 2 and 3 or just 2 and 3 when needed.

Our goal is to be able to reach out to the people who live too far away for personal riding lessons and still have the need for support understanding their horse's gait ability. The tips and advise is based on posture, seat, explaining different gaits and make the owner aquinted with the (im)possibilities of their gaited horse, no matter the breed.

When you visit us for personal instruction, your horse needs to have a passport and is current on vaccinations including the Rhino Pneunomy twice a year and deworming.

Contact us in advance to discuss the options for your horse or make an appointment for a personal introduction.
