Sterling's Dusty Rose
Sire:
Pedigree:
Dusty Rose... we met her at friends
during our stay in Tennessee in October 2007.
There is not much we can tell about her yet, although? Sterling's Dusty Rose
just switched stable 2 weeks earlier and the new owner had not ridden
her yet. The mare looked friendly and soft, had a nice conformation and
we liked her bloodlines. Dusty Rose is a Heritage Outcross. Meaning 1 of
her parents is Heritage certified, in this case her sire; Buds Sterling Bullet.
Enough reasons for us to see this mare born in 2002 being ridden. As
gentle and laid back during brushing and saddling, as restless she
became once 1 foot was in the stirrups. This was ackward since Dusty
Rose was shown ridden with just a ropehalter 2 weeks earlier. But no,
the saddle and bridle was clearly something she was not used to.
Now what? This mare had potential but we
couldn't judge her gaits, nor see if she would be suitable for our
ridinglessons and workshops. We decide to thank our friend and to
continue our search. We did however make an appointment to return in a
few days to take a look at another mare.
Later that week we are at the same
breeder looking at another mare. We talk some and after a while the
question was asked if we'd like to see Dusty Rose being ridden again. We
were enjoying our visit and it would be nice to watch horses under
saddle while we were talking. Big was our surprise when Dusty Rose moved
happy and with confidence showing her full potential. It appeared this
young lady had not been ridden in 3 years and had to get used to a
saddle and bridle again. Once she had been ridden twice, Dusty Rose was
totally relaxed and moved in a very nice 4 beat flatwalk. What a nice
horse!
So
we decided to purchase Dusty Rose after all. She arrived in March 2008, in foal to Heritage Tennessee
Walker stallion
Red Bud's Rambling Slim. Her foal will
be for sale.
Dusty Rose delivered a foal in 2006 from the same stallion.
